AN EXPLANATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In your paper and in certain others, references have been made to MiHayes, of Geraldine, incorrect and calculated to mislead. Mr Hayes has got no " call" as proceeding from any parish within the boundary of the Presbyterian Church. Mr Hayes is not about to officiate as a ' Minister' to any Presbyterian congregation, and Mr Hayes is not going to be ' inducted' into any charge in connection with the name Church. Mr Hayes, at his own request, is being found some work to do as a laymzn, or as in the capacity of what is sometimes called a student evangelist, but, for the present, at least, nothing moie.—l am, etc., On the Square.
