AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. TIMAETT. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the week ending Saturday last as follows : Horses—There was little business doing in horses at their yards to-day. The entry was considerably under the average, and the quality, with few exceptions, under the mark. They report a dull demand and prices low. They sold a few at the following quotations :—Fair and ' medium draughts, from £lB to £24 ; light harness and hacks, from £8 to £l6. Sheep—There i 8 little alteration in prices or demand for store sheep, and unless owners are prepared to reduce their values, they do not anticipate many lots to change hands till after harvest. They have made no sales of importance during the week. Fat Sheep—At Studholme Junction, last Monday, they sold a line of merino ewes at Bs, Present prices are equal to about 3d per lb for prime quality mutton. Cattle—They quote values similar to last week's quotations. Fat cattle are somewhat cheaper. Prime quality beef may be quoted at 20s per ICOlbs, or even a shade less. Wool and Skins —They held their usual fortmghthly sale last Wednesday, and sold the whole of the lots at fully better prices than at the last sale. Full woolled farmers' lots from 3s to 4s Id, medium skins from Is 6d to 2b 6d ; pelts, from 2d to 4d. CHBJSTCHUROH. Messrs Kobert Wilkin and Co. report : At the Addington Yards on Wednesday a large entry of fat and 6tore stock came forward for the week's supply. In fat cattle another large entry came forward, the bulk of which comprised prime and good quality sorts. There was, however, no improvement in prices. We quote from 18s to 20s per lOOlbs as nn average for beef. We sold a draft of merino wethers from the Heslerton estate at 10s 6d each ; crossbred wethers at 15s ; and a line of two and four tooth crossbred store wethers at 13s ; do ewes, at 12s 9d ; fat lambs from Ss to lis 3d, according to quality ; fat steers, to £8 2s 6d per head. Sheepskins, Fat, Hides, «tc. —We submitted 2200 skins, consisting of merinos, crossbreds, butchers' pelts, lambskins, etc. Crossbreds from Is, to 3s lOd ; merinos from Is 6d to 5s lOd. Pelts, dry, from 2d to 5d ; do butchers' from 3d .to 9d ; lambs from 8d to Is 7d. Fft from H to 2|d. Hides, 601 b and upwards, 4d per lb ; do, 401 b to 601 b, 3|d per lb ; do, under 401 b, 3d per lb. Calfskins, 3|d per lb. CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. 1 The Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening, the 4th inst : The grain market continues dull, operations being confined to immediate requirements. The improvement in the weather has had the effect of forwarding crops, oat cutting have already commenced in several districts. The grass seed crop will be heavy, and bu) T ers are diffident in offering prices so early in the season. The quotations for the week are : Wheat—Sound milling winter, 4s to 4s 2d, f.o.b. ; tuscan, 3s 6d to 4a, f.o.b. ; second quality, 3s 3d to S< 8d ; chick wheat, Is lOd to 2s, at Christchurch. Oats —Prime milling, 2s Id to 2b 2d per bushel ; bright short feed, Is lid to 2s ; inferior and discolored, Is 8d to Is lOd per bushel, f.o.b. Barley None offering ; prices nominal.
