GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the members of the above Committee was hell in the schoolroom om Wednesday evening last. Members present—Messrs A Shtrratt (Chairman), G. Ward, W. C. Andrews, 0. E. Bherratt, W. Sbiers, and N. Dunlop. MISUTE3. L The minutes of the previous were read and confirmed. NEW SCHOOL SITE. The mutter of the new school site was discussed. The Chairman, jat the request of the meeting, read a letter he had written to the Chief Commissioner of Waste Lands Board, Christchurch,, applying for four acres of land, near the park and fronting on the Cemetery road. The action taken by the Chairman was approved of. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £3 4s were passed for payment. ; acting-inspector’s report. The report of the Acting-Inspector on his examination of the Geraldine school was laid on the tab'fi. The report has already appeared in the columns of this paper. headmaster’s report. The Head Master’s report for. the month was read, showing the average attendance to be I{3, the low average being due to the presence of whoopingcough amongst thej children. ' He also* requested that two pa-sons ba appointed to l audit the accounts ; nconnection with th® last concert, j Resolved—“ That Messrs C. E. Sherfaftt and W. C. Andrews be appointed to. audit the concert accounts as requested by the Head Master.” SCHOOL HOIIDAY3. On a discussion taking plac/j as to the length of the midsummer holidays it was resolved—* 4 That tie school close on on Thurdays evening and remain closed until January 14th, 1883.” visitors’ report.
