TEMUKA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

The annual distribution of prizes amongst the children attending the Sunday school attached to the above church took place last Sunday. The church was crowded, principally by the children, but there were a great many adults present. After singing a few hymns, the Rev D. Gordon addressed the children. He said he was very much pleased at seeing so many present. He was pleased and he was sure they were all pleased, to see their old friend, Mr D. M. Mackay, present. He had a great deal to do with the organisation of the school. Many had suffered privations since that time last year. There had been a good deal of sickness iu the district, and many had been kept from attending the school, but still they had every reason to be thankful at being present that day to sing God's praises. A Sabbath school, could not go on successfully without good organisation and good teachers. They had all these things, and oughi to reel thankful. Seasons of review were always seasons of heart searchings. It was possible that all of ihem wished they had done better, but still they had a great deal to be thankful for, and he hoped they would try to do better work in 1884 than they had done in 1883. lie urgtud parents to send their children to school ; and expressed the pleasure he felt at finding that chrildren belong-
