AUCTIONEERS' EEPOBTd. CHEISTOHUBOH. Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report : At Addington on Wednesday, 4861 sheep, 440 head of cattle, and Q2 pigs came forward for the week's supply. Fat sheep—A limited entry, principally prime good quality descriptions, for which the biddings were animated and prices a shade in advance of last week's quotations were obtained. ' In store sheep the demand was brisk, and every lot yarded found buyers at values fully equal to vendor's expectations, crossbred hoggets (shorn) sold from 12s 7d to 14s 3d each. Fat cattle—A full supply offered, for which description the bidding dragged, and owners W, to snhmit to a farther drop on last week's prices. We sold on account of various o«ners crossbred ewes (shorn) from 14a 9.1 to 15s 3d. Fat lambs from 9s to 10s. Fat steers from £6 15s to £7 5k ; ditto cows to £7 5s ; springers fn m£4 17s 6d to £5. Pigs at 28s aril 3ls each. Sheepskins, Fat, Hides, etc.—A very limited supply came forward for 'fhursdr.y's sale, the principal lots offered being butchers' pelts. We sold country ciMssbreds at Is 6d to 4s 6ii ; country mrrimw, Is 7d to 4s 9d ; butcher' pelts, 81 to Is 2d ; lambskins, 3d to Is. Fnt and Tallow—Good demand for each lot offered ; disposed of at last week's rfUep. Hides and calf-6kins same as last week. " CHRISTOHURCH CORJS EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening, the 14th inst.:— Very little has transpired during the past week in the grain market. The demand reported in last '.vmek's quotations for wheat and taU has been of a terupoary nitore. With the exception of a fair demand for first-class milling wheat there maybe said to be no inquiry. Holders, however, maintain prices) looking foiward no doubt to the probability of a late harvest. The following are the latest quotations : Wheat—Sound Milling, 3s lOd to 4s 2d per bushel f.o.b. ; second quality, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; chick wheat, Is lOd to 2s 3d per bushel. Oats—Prime milling, 2s Id to 2s 2d per bushel f.o.b. ; bright short feed, Is lid to 2s ; inferior and discolored, Is 8d to Is lOd. Bailey—First class malting, 4s to 4s 4d per bushel ; second quality, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; feed, Is lid to 2s 2d ppr bushel. Potatoes—£l 7s 6<3 to £1 10s at country stations. Cheese and Butter— to 5d for the former, and 6£d to 7d for the latter, kegs extra.
