AUCTIONEERS’ ; REPORTS., TIMAEU. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending Saturday as follows : Horses—A decided improvement in the demand for good draught horses was noticeable in their yards to-day, and although there waa no;great change in prices offering, still their sale to-day was livelier than it has been for a good few Saturdays back, and there was a greater competition for the different lots. Their entries to-day consisted of about 30 fair and goou draughts, and about 20 light harness horses . and hacks, A consignment of the latter of 15 head, from Ilakatere Station, found purchasers at from L 8 to Ll 6 ; one pair of well mr tched greys at L2B ; another pair at LlB ; for good draughts prices were from L 26 to L 32 10s ; ordinary softs from’ LI 3 to' L 24. 1 Sheep—There is a brisk demand for all classes of store sheep, and good
pricis obtainable, especially ft * yot/rJg crossbred#, A mil entry came tf,o hand at the Washdyke yards last Monday. Over 1100 store sheep and 500 fat sheep were petih'ed, and with few exceptions,alTtlie, lot,s |ounl ready purchasers. Forj.stofe skelp, the prices /given‘vrefe 500 hoggets at 10s. 3d ; 207 wethers and ewes at 12s. Privately .they have, placed, during the week a Jibe,of, 200Qlialf'-brod- 2 and 4-tooth wethers at ,a : satisfactory ;'priee.
