AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.

GERALDINE. Messrs J. Mundetl and Co, report sales of stock, etc,, for the week ending Saturday, Dec. Bth, 1883 : At the Geraldine monthly stock sale, on Wednesday last, the attendance of buyers was large, and prices realised during the sale better than have been ruling for some time past, especially an sheep and store cattle. The totals yarded for the day’s sale were 100 sheepi, 131 head of cattle and 25 horses. The prices realised were as follows :—2-tooth halfbred sheep (shorn), 12s 8d ; a line of rather small halfbred hoggets (shorn), 10s 3d; 3-year-old steers and heifers, in forward condition, from L 4 7s 6d to L 6 15s ; 2-year-olds, from L 3 to L 3 15s; yearlings, LI to LI 17s; calves, rather weedy, 12s; cows, springing and in full profit, from L4to L 5 15s, We quote beef at 23s per cwt, The keenest competition was evinced during the sale, and, with only two exceptions, every lino was cleared at considerably over owner’s value. At Winchester Fair, the following day, there was a large entry of store cattle, and prces realised by us were : For 3-year-olds, in forward condition, L 3 15s to L 5 ; 2-year-olds, L 8 ; j catlings, Ll 16s. At our rooms, Geraldine, on Saturday, prices realised for farm produce were similar to last quotations—with the exception of potatoes, which are dropping in value considerably. We wish to remind the public that we are going to start a Horse Fair at Geraldine, the first of which will be held on Wednesday, the 19th of this month.
