A meeting of the Directors of the ' above company was held in the Walling* fotd hotel on Wednesday evening, Mr John Talbot in the chair. The usual preliminary business was attended to, accounts amounting to £l4 12s 9d were; passed for payment. It was shown by the Chairman that a water power, although advantageous, was not indispensab'e, as if steam were used it would be useful in more ways than as'a motive power, as by raising the temperature of the netting pits witli steam pipes, the Company would be able to ret in winter, if necessary. The Secretary was instructed to write to Messrs Booth and McDonald and order a set of breaking rollers and scutching stocks, and to call the next meeting in a fortnight from date, at which the question of sites would be fully discussed, and the Chairman would bring. forward all the information he could obtain with reference to spinning machinery* The meeting then terminated.'
