AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. CHRISTCHUECH. Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report : At the Addington yards on Wednesday 6869 sheep and 526 head of cattle were yarded for the week's supply. Fat siieep—A very largn entry came forward ; a fair proportion composed of prime and good quality descriptions. The biddings were dull compared to late sales, and although a few lines sold up to lale quotations, the bulk of those offered changed hands at prices about Is per head below last week's rates, while store sheep commanded keen competition, and' every line offered found buyers at satisfactory prices to vendors. Fat cattle—A full supply penned, the quality of which was above the usual average. There was, however, a great want of competition, and we have to quote a further drop on last week's- - We sold on account of various clients prime crossbred wethers (.-diorn) at 18s Bd, good ditto at 16s, medium ditto and light weights at 13s 6d ; a draft of crossbred ewes (in the wool), with a large per centage of lambs _at foot, at 20s each ; a line of merino wether hoggets at 10s Id ; fat steers at £8 each, young stores at from £3 9s 6d to £5. Sheepskins, Hides, Fat, etc.—We catalogued 1833 sheepskins, 48 bags fat, and 50 hiues. Biddings were very depressed for skins, and owners have to put up with another drop in prices, the approach of the wool sales being no doubt the cause. We sold country crossbreds at from Is to 4s 7d ; country [merinos, Is 6d to 4s 6d ; butchnrs' crossbreds, 4s to 4s 6d ; bUchers' merinos, 4s 2d to 4s 9J ; butchers' pelts, 7d to 10d ; lambskins, 6d to lOd. Fat was cleared out at 2|d to 2|d per lb ; hides and calfskins, green, salted, 3id ; dry salted, 3fd; calfskins, 3|d ; hides, cut and damaged, 2£d per lb. _ CHEISTCHURCK COR& EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening, the 23rd inst.: — The slight improvement of )ast week has not held good foi this, business having settled down to the dull routine usual at this time of year, and a con tinuance of which may be expected until harvesting our present crop, the prospects of which look fairly promising. Quotations for the week as follows :—- Wheat—Sound milling, 3s 9d to 4s per bushel, delivered in Christchurch ; second quality, 3s 3d to 3s Od ; chick wheat, Is lOd to 2s 3d per bushel. Oats —Prime milling, 2s Id to 2s 2d per bushel, f.o.b. ; bright short feed, 1m lid to 2s ; inferior and discolored, Is 8(1 to Is lOd per bushel. Barley—First-class malting, 4s to 4s 3d per busliel' second quality, 3s 6d to 3s 8d ; feed, Is lid to 2s 2d per bushel. Grass Seed—Unaltered since previous quotations ; demand nominal. Potatoes-27s 6d to 30s at country stations. Cheese and Butter— to «d for the former, and 6J to 8d for the latter, kegs extra. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Nov. 21. At the wool sale to-day Messrs Goldsbrough and Co. (limited) sold 5000 bales. Greasy wools brought up to 14fd, and scoured realised an averageof 20 x d. A good demand continues, especially among American and Continental buyers.

Nov. 22. At the wool* sale tacky, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) catalogued 4500 bales, iucludirg 1800 bales of scoured wools. All good wools elicited brisk competition, last week's prices being firmly maintained. Inferior and faulty descriptions, however, were rather lower. 4100 bales were sold, greasy realising up to 13d and scoured up to 22d. There was a large atteudance of buyers and good competition was experienced. ENGLISH MARKETS. '.-,,.:. London, Nov.: 19. The market for colonial bread&uffs continues steady. Adelaide wheat has further advanced by Gd per quarter, and to-day is qaoted at 46s 6d, ex store. New Zealand wheat remains at 38s 6d to 44s 6d, ex store, according to quality. Adelaide flour, ex store, remains at 325. Australian tallow is dull. Jiest beef is quoted at 365, and best mutton at 395. The colonial wool auctions opened today before a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers. The opening catalogue comprised 9800 bales. Good competition was experienced, and the ruling prices were well maintained. The present series will close on December 12th.
