Lord Loftus is a dark bay horse, with black points, rising 7 years old. He stands 16 hands 3 inches high, has short legs and perfect feet. He has a grand constitution, immense, bone, and a splendid temper. Lord Loftus' 'sire, Sir Colin ''Gam pell, was by the well-known pure-bred Clydesdale, |King Fergus (imported), dam Scotland's Pride (imported), a Pure-bred Clydesdale Mare, and winner of many prizes. Lord Loftus' dam was the Purebred Clydesdale Mare , by Napoleon, grand dam Jean, by Wellington. Lord Loftus is a sure foal-getter, some of the Finest Stock in the district being his progeny.
