Mr C.'E. Sberratt suggested that a letter should be written to the Board of Education, asking what the extra risk would amount to per annum. Proposed by Mr Mundell, seconded byMr G. Ward, and carried —‘That the Chairman make the necessary enquiries of the Board of Education as to what the. extra risk would cost.’ Mr Ward offered to interview the Good Templars, who were at that time holding a meeting in another room, as to the length of time they would be tising the building, and whether they would pay their share of the extra insurance. On Mr Ward’s returning he said the Good Templars would be using the building for about two months, and they were willing to pay their share of extra insurance. The Chairman was requested to write , to the band and Presbyterian choir to the same effect. VISITING COMMITTEE’S REPORT. The Chairman reported that he had visited the school during the past month, when there were 186 children present. Everything was going on satisfactorily. ! The school was in capital working order and all the teachers were in their places. Mr G. Ward apologised for not having visited the school with the Chairman ,on account of pressing busi- , ness at the time. REPAIRS TO SCHOOL, BTC. I The Chairman read a list of accounts for repairs to school, etc., that had been effected out of the grant from the Board of £l7. They amounted to £l6 12s 9d. There were a few other matters ■ required seeing to which Would swallow up the balance. The Chairman was authorised to have the other items seen to. HEAD master’s REPORT. Mr Hughes, the head master of the school, reported that the average attendance for the past month bad been 162 and, this, average, would likely be the same for the quarter. This statement was deemed highly satisfactory. VISITING COMMITTEE. Messrs G. Ward and Dnnlop were appointed visitors to the school for the ensuing month. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £5 15s Bd wcjc,passed for payment and' the meeting terminated. •
