AUCTIONEERS REPORTS. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending Saturday at follows : Horses The demand for draught or light horses at their yards to-day was, they think, without exception, the dullest that has been experienced for a good many months back, and although they offered for sale without reserve a large number of good mares and geldings, they have to report but few changed hands, and what they sold had to be almost given away. They entered for sale between 50 and 60 horses, and sold at the following prices :—Good draughts, at from L 26 to L3O ; medium sorts, from LlB to L 22 ; hacks and light harness horses, from L 8 to Ll 5. To-day they held their annual sale of Clydesdale and thoroughbred entires, their entries consisting of 5 draught entires, 8 thoroughbreds, and 4 ponies. They report in every case* the bidding did not reach the owners' values, and in consequence every lot was passed in. However, they anticipate a few will be sold privately.

Sheep—There is no alteration in the market for store sheep since they last reported, almost no business doing in this class of stock. A good line of crossbred hoggets was entered for sale last Monday at the Washdyke yards, but failed to find a purchaser. Fat sheep—Prices are firm. Prime mutton may be quoted at about 3d per lb. Ihey sold at the Washdyke on the 24th a line consisting ot about 300 crossbred ewes and wethers, at from 15s to 18s 6d, the latter price beiug for an exceptionally heavy draft.

Cattle—A few store, cattle were entered for sale at the Washdyke last Monday, and also at Pleasant Point on Friday, but transactions were limited and prices similar to last quotations. Fat cattle—Values are the same as last week, about 25s per 1001 b. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, Sept, 28. New Zealand wheat has declined 3d per bushel, and is quoted at 4s ; New Zealand oats have fallen Id, and are now worth 2s 3d ; maize has further advanced to 3s 4d ; Sugar Company's No 1 pieces, per ton, L 35. Adelaide, Sept. 28. Wheat remains at 4s 9d ; quotations are nominal, Flour, —Town brands continue at last week's prices, viz., LIO 15s to Lll ; country do have fallen 2s 6d to 5s per ton, and are now quoted at L 9 17s 6d to LlO. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Sept. 27. Wheat, Adelaide, ex warehouse, 45s 6d ; New Zealand, 40s to 44s j Adelaide flour, ex store, 335. Tallow—Australian, best beef 40s, best mutton 41s, The catalogue at to-day's wool sale comprised 10,000 bales. The tone of the Bale was again firm. 1 ' !■■■■■■■■—■—
