GERALDINE LICENSING COMMITTEE.
[Before W. U. Slack, Esq. (Chairman), Dr Fish, C. G. Tripp and W. S.
Maslin, Esqs., Commissioners,]
The minutes of the meeting of Bth June last having been read, the following applications were considered : Mr B. Bowden, of the Crown Hotel, Geraldine, applied for a transfer of the license of that house from Mr A. F, De Veaux to himself. Granted.
William Wadlow applied for a transfer of the license of the Woodbury Hotel from Mr R. Bowden to himself.
The application was also granted. Mr A. Macdonald, owner of the Bush Hotel, Geraldine, submitted plans for alterations to the present building, prepared by Mr Duval, architect, Timaru, at the same time remarking they were more extensiv e and elaborate thau required by the Licensing Committee. On looking over the plans, the Committee concurred in Mr Madonald's remarks, as the condition under which the annual licence was granted at their last sitting was the repairing of the roof, re-flooring the old portion of the building, and new dining and tap rooms to be erected at the north end.
It was decided to give Mr Macdonald a copy of the above conditions for him to consult again with Mr Duval, as they did not wish the former to be put to any unnecessary expense, such as the following out of Mr Duval's plan would entail.
This concluded the business of the meeting. ______^____
