The Provisional Directors present this Prospectus to the‘public generally, and at the Same time woidd direct the special aiten'ion of Farmers in the immediate district to some of the advantages secured by making Laity Produce under the Factory system. (1 ) It is an accepted commercial axiom that where the greatest quantity of any article can he made at a given price the profits thereon are greater, and the success of the enterprise is more fully assured. (2 ) The cost of manufacturing is'proportionahly less t» the quantity made by the minia of price paid for the raw material, the economising of the necessary labor, the use of the best and latest machinery, and the centering of all the operations in m e establishment specially designed for the purpose, the whole being e.arred on under the supervision of a t’ ■'roughly practical Manager, thereby, seen ring the utmost quantity obtainable t,oni cl-o raw material and a uniformity of quality which becomes in tbe markets a standard commodity of a certain value. (3.) A combination <of capital and tbe interests inseperable therefrom as herein proposed, opens for itself a market of consumption no privately directed 1 scheme can over obtain, while the opportunities for improvement are immeasurably greater, and the certainty of more speedy returns at the highest rates secured.
(4.) In tlio sale of his milk to the Company: the farmer finds a sure and easy way of at once converting this resource into cash, as it is intended to settle for the milk by monthly payments, thus avoiding,on the 'one hand the disposing of cither the milk or its product at a price frequently nnremnnerative with a inaxini.ui.ii, amount, of labor and risk, and on the other band Ving placed in a position to avoid the credit and exchange systems ,-witJi thyir attending-drawbacks. '' (5.y Accep'ii g the possibility that a niatket must he entered outride the boundaries of the Colonies, ‘ the now established steam transit to.the Old World, and the improvements of the refrigerating principle, place the Home Markets so near that a field for all the goods manufactured is opened at but a fraction over the cost of sending to markets nearer to our door. (6 ) Waste in connection with a properly conducted Dairy Factory is prevented, as every par'icle of waste is utilized in feeding pigs and they in course me brought to" the credit of revenue in the slmpe ot Bacon and Hams. (7 .) From the foiegoing considerations the Provisional Directors have confidence .in:presenting the claims of this Company to the farmers of the district, as, by them being shareholders in the venture, they not only secure a ready market for their milk and pigs, but a participation in the profit s of' the chmjerri. That these are in the highest degree satisfactory from an investors point of view the reported success of Fnctoiies already in operation, and the number of now Companies now starting in’viirious parts of the Colony is con!cUistve, while to the Public generally it day be affirmed that an investment, with better prospects is rarely ever brought before their notice. jys 1
