Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report:—At Arlington yards on Wednesday, a- full supply ot fat sdieop Again came forward for the week's supply, a large proportion of which comprised merino wethers. F»t Cattle—A small entry to hand. A few pens comprised prime quality steers, which changed hands at an average of 22s 6d per JOOlbs. The total entries for the day comprised 7561 sheep, 130 head of cattle and 25 pigs, of which we sold prime cross-bred wethers at 17« 3d and 18s' ; good do, from !5? to 15-i 6d ; medium do at 13s 9>J and 14< ; ftt steers at L 7 5s each ; do heifers to Lb" 10s ; pics at 42s each. At our sheepskin sale to dny, we catalogued 1461 skins, 34 bags fat mid 9 casks tallow. We sold country crossbreds from 3s 7d to 4* .6>i ; country merinos, 4s, 4s 4d to 4s 9d ; butchers' crossbreds, 4s 6d to 5s 6d ; a line of 56 from sheep from the Frozen M-at Factory, belonging to Messrs J. and R. Inwood, reaching the latter price ; butchers' meiinos, 3s 8d to 5s ; fat 2§d to 2§ per lb for first quality, and up to 2d per lb for second quality ; tal ow, from 26s to 80s ; hides, dry ualt.-d, 3fd ; wet sake J, 3£ per lb ; catkin-,. 3fd per ll>.

Report for the week ending Friday evenuig, the 27th instant, : There is nothing in th- aspect of the grain market which culls for special comment, business during the week having evoked no new features. It is satisfactory to n.ite that the English telegrams continue to report increased valivs for wheat.

Wheat —Good milling samples, 4s to 4s 2d per bushel. Tuscan of good quality, 2d per buslnd < xtra ; -econd quality, 3a 3d to 3a 9d per bu-h-l ; chick wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Oats—Good stout milling, 2s to 2s 2d per bushel ; feed quality, Is 9d to Is lid per bushel. Barley—Firtrfc class mailing samples, 4s 31 to 4* 6d per bushel, sec-ml quality malting and feed 2s 4d to 3s 9d per bushel. Grass seed—Farmers' samples, 3s 3d to 3s 9d per bushel, machine dressed 4s to 4s 3d, cocksfoot 4d to per lb.

Potatoes— -A. few small sales continue to be made, but there is still no decided improvement to note in the market—30s and 32s 6d for small parcels has been given. There is, however, no disposition on the part of buyers to speculate, hand to mouth transactions being the order of the day.

Cheese ami hi iter—sd to for the former, lOd to l()ll for the latter.

AU3LRALIAN MARKETS.

Melbourne, July 26.

Wheat, shipping, is quoted at 4s lOd ; the market is quiet and prices irregular. For malting barley the demand has slackened, an<l thi market is weak. To-day's quotations are 5s to 6s. Nmv Z' j a'and oats are qniVttT, hut steady at 2s 9d to 3s for feeding, and 3s Id to 3s 2d for milling qualities.

New Zealand securities are at the following quotations : 5 per cent 10 40 l.>nn, 106 ; 5 per cent 1889jWn,' 105 l; 41. per cent 1879-19)4 loan, The breadstuff's market maintains its upward tendency. Adelaide wheat, ex store, is unchanged at 475, and Now Zealand do at 44s to 475. Off coast cargoes of New Zealand wheat, are quoted to-day at 435, a further advance of Is.

Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, is worth 333.
