TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.
A special meeting of the above Board was held yesterday. Present—Messrs Tailor, Quinn, Paterson and Austin.
The Clerk look the chair, the object being to elect a Chairman of the Board.
Mr Quinn proposed —'Thai Mr Talbot be re-elected Chairman,' and in doing so spoke highly of the very able manner iu which that gentleman had filled the position in the past. He also referred to the fair and impartial manner in which he treated pub ic m> tiers coming before him during the four years lie had been a member of the Board.
Tiie motion was seconded by Mr Austin and carried.
Mr Talbot then took the chair, and thanked them for their renewed confidence in him.
The election of officers was then dealt with. Mr P. Sinclair was re-appointed Clerk and Surveyor, and Mr Bolton Inspector of Nuisances. The Rate 801 l was considered, and the Clerk ordered to get the Bate Book ready for striking the annua! rate The Clerk was instructed to notify by advertisement that a rate of §d iu tho £ would be struck. Several other matters of a minor importance were dealt with, and the meeting adjourned.
