THE LATE ST. SAVIOUR’S CHURCH CONCERT, TEMUKA.
TO THS EDITOR
Sir, —I note in yours of (lie 24th ult. a letter signed ‘ Amateur,’ drawing attention to the great negligence of the management in not forwarding complimentary tickets to tho performers. Allow me to inform ‘Amateur’ that the performers weae handed complimentary tickets at the door, and this, to most people’s minds, is considered sufficient. On first reading the aforesaid letter I deemed it unworthy of notice, but on secondary consideration I thought that a reply might possibly bring ‘Amateur’ and myself together, and we could then endeavor to instil a small amount of etiquette into the minds of the poor ignoramuses in Temuka, and so prevent the recurrence of so grors a breach of etiquette in the future. In conclusion, 1 sincerely hope for all concerned that ‘Amateur’ will pause ere he attempts to rush too much etiquette on us poor ignoramuses, as far be the day distant when we are compelled to wear belltoppers and kid gloves.—l am, etc., Old Temukaite.
hope ‘ Amateur’ will not accuse mo if misconstruing courtesy with etiqcutte, as I consider the two words synonirnous in this instance.
