AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, May 23. Shipping wheat is in better demand at 4s 2d to 5s 3d. Malting barley has declined to 5s 8d and 5s lid, the market dull. New Zealand oats are steady and good business is doing at last week’s prices, viz., 3s Id to 3s 3d for feeding, and 3s 3d to 3s 4d for milling. recovering from the effects of the panic caused by a recent heavy failure, The markets for colonial breadstuffs and tallow are unchanged. The catalogue at to-day’s wool sale comprised 10,300 biles. A firm and active demand was experienced, with more animation and firm prices. Good greasy advanced somewhat, and prices are now on a par with those realised at the close of the February auctions. Scoured wools are weaker, and about the same price as at the close of last sales.
