MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of (he above Board was held io the Road Board office, Peel Forest, on Tuesday last. MKMDIiRS VKESENT. Mon, J. B. A Aeland (Chairman), Messrs J. Heney, 0. C. Tripp, 0. J. Dennistoun, and R. Mackay. minutes. The minutes of the last meeting were road and confirmed. TENDERS. Tenders for the following works were considered.: No 1 contract—Patrick Burke, £IBO ; T. Sugrue, £IBO ; J. McCool, £l4B Ids ; Stephen Courtney, £137 (accepted.) No. 2—Put lick Burke, £IOO ;T. Sugrue £BO ; Steph . n Courtney £]37 (accepted). No. 7—Building Opuhu bridge. It was resolved—That the tenders bo submitted to Mr Marchant, and that he be empowered to accept the most suitable tender.” CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was road and considered From the Secretary to the Treasury, advising the Board that the sum of £27 13s 4d had been forwarded to Us credit witli the Union Bank of Australia, Timani, as a contribution' towards roads made through land sold at village settlements and on deferred payment. From Mr L. Walker, requesting the Board to clear the Clayton bridge track. The Overseer was directed to report on the. work at the next meeting. From l\lr G. I. Hamilton, calling attention to the damage done to the .road over Tripp’s Pass by the previous heavy rains. A letter was also received from Messrs Meiklo and Mee on the same matter. The Overseer was directed to have the necessary repairs done as soon as possible. RESOLUTIONS. Resolved—“ That the Overseer see Mr W. Ashby as to whether he can make arrangements for the purchase of a small piece of his section in the Orari Gorge for the purpose of a road, as the late floods have washed away the old road ’ Resolved—“ That at the next' meeting a special order be proposed, increasing the number of members on the Board to six.”
