AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS
An unreserved sale of about 300 bigs of malt, or 1200 bushels, secured from the fire which recently occurred at Mr Franks’s brewery, was held by Mr Ollivier on the brewery premises last Saturday. The grain, though more or less damaged and unfit for brewing purposes, was nevertheless suitable as food for cattle or pigs, and readily found purchasers. The attendance was good, and the bidding though not very brisk was nevertheless steady, and a fair price was realised. The refreshments were provided gratis, and freely partaken of.
