CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE,
Report for the week-ending Friday evening, the 27th instant: — Wheat—Tuscan, in shipping lines, 4a 5d to 4s 6d, f.0.b.; other wheats, 4s 3d to 4s od, f.o.b. Second quality samples, large parcels are still offering. The market for this class of wheat is weak, 3s 6J to 3s 9d, according to condition. Chick wheat from 2s lOd to 3a fid. Oats-A few sales have taken place during the week at from 2s to 2s 2|d per bushel, t.0.b., far fairly good milling samples. Peed is worth from 2s to 2s Id.
Barley—A considerable number of medium quality samples have been on offer during the week. Buyers are indifferent, consequently low prices have to be accepted to induce business. Sales have been affected at from 4s 41 to 4s 7d per bushel, delivered at Christchurch. Grass Seed—Ryegrass, 3s 6d to 3s 9d per bushel for fairly well cleaned farmer’s samples; extra well dressed will up to 4s. Cocksfoot: The autumn sowing being now over, prices have rceeded, 3jd to 3fd are the prices obtainable, f.0.b., Ly ttelton. Potatoes—A good many parcels have ffeen on offer. Buyers’ and sellers’ values are for the most part at variance, and consequently not much business has taken place. A few sales have taken place at 30s and 32s 6d; sellers are asking 35s and 37s 6d.
Beans and Peas—The former are worth from 3s 5d to 3s 6d per bushel, f.0.b.,; the latter from 3s 8d to 3s 9d per bushel. Cheese and butter—The former 5d to s£d the latter lid to Is per lb.
CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS. Messrs R. Wilkia and Co. report At the Addington yards on Wednesday only a medium supply came to hand. The otat entries for the day comprised 6375 sheep, 470 head of cattle, and 130 pigs, of which we sold on account of various clients, medium quality crossbreds at I2s 3d, crossbred lambs at 8s; fat steers, prime, at £8; three-year-old store steers in forward condition at $5 17s 6d ; pigs, prime, from £2 13s 6d to £3, There was a good attendance of buyers at the weekly sale cf sheepskins held by us on Thursday. We catalogued and sold 1629 skins. skins, large, 2s 9d, 3s Id, 3s 6d ; do, medium, Is Bd, 2s Sd, 3s 9d; do, small, Is 3d, Is 4d, Is 8d; country skins, lorge, 3s lid, 4s 5d,4s lid, and 6» 2d for very large and heavy skins; do, medium, Is lid, 2s 10d, 3s lid ; do, small, Is 3d, Is 7d, is lid ; pelts, late shorn, 2d, Bd, Is Id. Fat and Tallow— The trade is well represented, and there was a spirited demand. 62 pigs were catalogued and disposed of. Fat, best quality, elean and well saved, to 2§d per lb ; second quality, to 2§d per lb. Tallow in small lots, at 2£d, 2|d, up to 3d per lb for best quality. Hides and calfskins not sold. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, April 25. Shipping wheat is firm at 5s 4d to 5s 5d ; malting barley, 5r fid to 5s 9d, market firm ; New Zealand oats are steady at 2s lld to 3s 2d for feeding sorts, and 3s 3d to 3- 4d for milling.

Adelaide wheat is unchanged at 50s ex store, and New Zealand do at 45s to 495. Adelaide flour, ex store, is worth 34s 6d.
Australian tallow—Best beef is worth 44», and best mutton 49g.
