WINCHESTER FAIR.
The usual fortnightly fair was held in the Winchester Sale Yards on Thursday last. There was an average attendance, The prices for sheep were inferior to those obtained at Inst fair, while cattle, especially springers, sold more advantageously to the owners. 243 d sheep, about 600 head of cattle, 20 pigs, and a few horses were submit ted for sale. Subjoined are some of the lots sold, and the prices they fetched : Sheep—lso fat cross-hreds at 14s ; 150 do do, Us 9d ; 180 cross bred ewes at 7s 6 i ; 430 full mouth merino ewes at 5s 6d ; 400 broken mouth merino ewes at 3a , 309 ha!f-bred merino ewes at 10a 41 ; 150 do, at 10s 6d ; 70 ewes and lambs at 6s 6d ; 280 merino ewes at 2s 9d ; 420 crossbred lambs at 9a Id ; 600 do, at 9a ; 37 fat ranis at from 13a to 20a.
Cattle—4 store steers at £7 ;18 steers at £4 2a 61 ; 7 do at from £5 to £8 10s ; 2 heifers at £3 15 ; springing cows at £3 and £4 ; 1 cow in full milk at £5 6a ; 2 store do, at £5 10 each. One or two lots of sheep were disposed of privately
