Auckland, April 4.

At the Criminal session of the Supreme Court Wni. Campbell, for malicious injury to property of Messrs Robertson, at Ghinemutu, was sentenced to three months.

Wellington, April 4.

At the Supreme Court, John Stephenson, for robbery from a dwelling, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment. Edward Price, for false pretences at Masterton, was sentenced to three years.

Hokitika. April 4.

At the Supreme Court to-day the charge against James Wylde, late Town Clerk of Kuraara, was resumed and concluded, Mr Harper addressed the jury for the Crown, and Mr Guinness for the prisoner. After retiring for half an hour the jury tound the prisoner guilty of larceny of three contractor’s deposits, and recommended him to mercy on account of the loose way the Corporation books were kept. Sentence was deferred, as there are five other indictments against Wylde. Christchurch, April 4.

The Supreme Court has been occupied all day in a trial for conspiracy to defraud creditors. The accused were acquitted. Dunedin, April 4.

The Supreme Court Criminal business concluded to-day, when Thomas Dobbie was found guilty on three separate charges of stealing sewing machines. There were numerous other charges’ but these were not gone on with. His Honor in sentencing the accused to four years’ penal servitude said he believed accused to be at the head of a conspiracy to defraud the Sewing Machine Company.
