Mr Semce lias announced his intention of addressing his constituents at Castlemaine on Thursday, when he will state the Ministerial programme.
March 13.
It is stated to be probable that Mr Berry’s re-election for Geelong will be opposed. It is announced that an amalgamation is to take place of the businesses of the National Insarance Company of Australasia and the Australia Felix Insurance Company. Sydney, March 12.
The sculling race at Grafton on Saturday between Rush and Laycock resulted in an easy victory for Laycock by four lengths. The handicap race was won very easily, by Macdonald. The steamship Austral is now safely at anchor in her old moorings in Neutral Bay, where she sank in November last.
Mr Redmond, the Irish agitator, held a meeting at Bathurst on Saturday evening. The proceedings were quite orderly.
March 13.
The barqne Victor, which has just arrived at Newcastle, reports that on the sth inst. she found the wreck of a large vessel bottom upwards off the coast of Tasmania. The wreck is believed to be that ol the brig Louisa, which left Hobart on the 16th December for Melbourne, and has not since been heard of.

The announcement that Mr McCrossan intended to leave the Ministry is now confirmed. Mr Norton succeeds him as Minister for Works.
