TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Temuka Road Board was held last Tuesday. Present—Messrs J. Talbot (Chairman), R. A. Barker and J. Austin. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read from Mr C, E. Cooper, asking for a map of the district.—Granted. From Mr Totten, pointing out that the road at the south branch of the Rangitata river wanted boulders taken off, and some repairs done. The Chairman explained that this was one of tire roads they agreed to take from the Geraldine Road Board, The work was ordered to be done. From Mr J. E. Marsh, in reference to hospital and charitable aids. —The letter was read. From Mr Williams, Chief Surveyor, wanting information with regard to reserves, and asking what roads had been made through them and how the Board proposed making them accessible. It was decided to supply the information as soon as it was obtained, ACCOUNTS. - Accounts to the amount of £BO4 7s 6d wore passed for payment. DEPUTATION. Mr James Blyth waited upon the Board and asked that something might

be don© in front of his yard. ll© wanted a crossing put down. He would have made a crossing if a tootpaih had been formed. it was decided to supply Mr Blyth with material, and he could do the work himself. Mr Christmas waited on the Board, and pointed out that a culvert on the Boiling Down road, near Wareing’s, wanted repairing. The Board promised that the work would be done, Mr Upriehard waited on the Board, and drew attention to the state Wilkin street was in with thistles. It was decided, on the motion of Mr Barker, to call tenders for cutting down the thistles on all the roads in the district. MEN DISCHARGED. Pending the appointment of an Overseer in the place of the present one, whose engagement has been terminated, it was resolved—* That all day men be discharged pending future arrangements/ SPECIAL MEETING. It was decided to hold a special meeting of the Board at 2 p.m. on that day week,
