A DOG STORY.

The Melbourne correspondent of the Hamilton Spectator writes:— ‘ Here is the champion dog story. Within view of a certain point on the Sandhurst Railway line there is situated a trimly-kept farmhouse, and every morning as the early train goes past the newspaper boy who accompanies it throws out a newspaperwhich a sagacious old collie has been trained to trot down every morning for. It is one of the sights for travellers on the line to watch for this old stager, who waits for the paper, picks it up in his mouth, and trots homo with it. The dog’s master is of Radical tendencies and reads the Age. One morning, so the story goes, the Argus was thrown out to the coiiie, who picked it up as usual, and shortly afterward dropped it, returning to his master paperless. The old fanner, it is said, toils with much glee how his clog knows him so well, even to the extent of being acquainted with his political opinions.’
