ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. THE Board, in pursuance of powers in that behalf eon erred by “ The Education Act, 1877.” (section 64). hereby directs that a PUBLIC MEETING of; the HOUSLHOLDE.rtS in every School District throughout the Education District of South Canterbury, beheld on Monday, the twenty-second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, at halt past seven o’clock in the evening, for the Election in each District of Seven Householders (section 64) to form the Committee for such District for the year ending with the fourth Monday in January, one thousand eight hundred and eig t four. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolhonse in each Distiiot, except in the case of Sutherland’s District, where the meeting will be held in the house of Mr Sutherland, The Board further directs that the First Meeting of each School Committee bo held in the place appointed -f >r the Elections, and immediately after the election, upon the same evening. The Board requests the Chairman of each Public Meeting to make to the Board, immediately after the election, a return of the names of the several householders elected to form the Committee, and recommends that each Chairman of Committee report his own election aa soon as possible.
