MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was hold in the Road Board office, Peel Forest, on Friday, 15th inst. Present—The Hon J, B. A. Acland (Chairman), and Messrs R. Mackay, C. Gr, Tripp, J. Honey and G. J. Dennistoun.
MINTJXES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDEYCB. The following correspondence was read and considered : From the Survey Office, Christchurch forwarding plans of blocks of land set apart for village settlement and sale on deferred payment, and requesting a return of the amount expended by the Board in forming roads, and an estimate of the cost of any further works necessary to make the land accessible.
The clerk was directed to supply the information asked for in respect of that part of the reserve within the Mount Peel district, and to return the amount of the subdivision of reserve 349, it not being in the district.
From the Railway League, Christchurch, requesting the support of the Board in providing funds to meet the expenses incurred in carrying out the object of the League,
Xo action was taken in the matter.
From the Manager of the Union Bank of Australia in reference to the renewal of the fixed deposit of the Board. THE ANNUAL ELECTION. Resolved—“ That public notice be given that in consequence of the provisions of the Boad Board Act 1882, by which the general election of members for the future takes place during the first week of May instead of the first week of January as heretofore, the annual meeting will not be held in January, 1883, as heretofore, but on such day in may as may be hereafter appointed.’ ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £741 16s Id were passed for payment. The Board then adjourned.
