AN EXTRAORDINARY CASE.
An extraordinary case, of alleged conspiracy has been heard at Campbell Town Police Court, Tasmania. Melmoth Fletcher, senior, of Young Town ; Melmoth Fletcher, junior, of View Point, lsis ; Thomas Fletcher and George Fletcher, of I'oung Town ; and Sydney John Fletcher and Leslie Fletcher, of Campbell Town, were charged, at the instanco of Thomas Emerson Headlam, with having on 10th Sept.. ISB2, conspired together to unlawfully assault, injure, and annoy him. The evidence went to show that the defendants went to the house of Mr Gib-uKi, o" Esk Yale, on October 10, between six seven in the morning, and asked to see the prosecutor, who was then asleep in bed, he being a guest of ~\lr Cibsnn When the prosecutor got"- up the defendants handcuff d him, and took hL.n \<\ their residence at Cunpell Town, awl there insisted that he should marry Emma Fletcher, whom it was alleged lie had seduced. The plaintiff promised to return next day, but he entered proceedings instead . The accused, were all committed for trial.
