The Times to-day states that unless the Egyptian Government agree to accord Arabi a fair trial, and allow him the services of British counsel, the British Government will demand that he should be handed over to the custody of the British authorities in Egypt.
A portion of the cargo per Chimborazo, shipped at Melbourne, consisting of 1893 carcases of sheep, has been examined, and found to be in excellent condition.
New York, Oct. 16
Favorable accounts are to hand from the wheat-growing States. The yield is expected to amount to 500,000,000 bushels.

Two men who were arrested by the police on a charge of attempting to rob the Commercial Bank of Australia at Avenel on the 6th inst. were committed: for trial to-day. ?
