TIMARU MARKETS. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week as follows : Horses—On Saturday they sold 26 at from £26 to £3O for fair good draughts j £l6 to Hl% for inferior and medium ; light horses and hacks, £8 to £ls. Sheep—Store sheep arc not in great demand. They quote from 4s 6d to 0s Gd for merino ewes ; from 13s to 15s for cross-bred ewes and lambs. Pat sheep are getting somewhat soarco, and consequently prices are rather better. At Washdyke Yards last Monday, Cross-bred ewes realised lis ; merino wethers, lis. Cattle—There has been little doing in cittle. At their last sale at the Washdyke they sold the following :—Cq\ys, from £3 §s Gd to £a l&s per head ; 28 head mixed young cattle at 37s (id ; 92 head young steers and heifers at 27s Gd ; 21 yealings at 27s Gd. Wool and Skius —They hell their usual usual fortnightly sale last Wednesday, and prices received were as follows : Goodfull-WQolled cross-hyeds, from 5s 2d to to 6s 3d ; medium, 4s to 5a ; merinos, from 3s Gd to 4* lid, At above quotations they sold about 500 skins.
Messrs William Collins and Co report —Pollard, 90s per ton ; bran, 80; ; farmers' flour, £9 per ton ; Denvent potatoes, 36s to 50s p.T ton -. kidneys, 8s to 10s psr p.ats, 2s Qd per bushel ; barley, <3s 2d ; yye grasses Gil ; onions, 0a od per cwt ; hams and bacon (inferior) 4>l <o Od ; fowl* 2s to 3s i duok s > 4s Od pur pair ; butter,

Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report : Fat cattle—Only a small entry offered, which found buyer* at prices a shade in advance of last week's sale. A large entry of stores was offered, for which there was very little inquiry. Cross-breds at 17s ; medium quality merino wethers at lis 9d; fat lambs at 12s 6d ; merino ewes (with a large percentage of lambs at foot) 9s 3d and 9s 9d ; fat steers at £6 7s 6d ; yearling heifers at 37s each. Sheepskins—Our catalogue comprised 1775 skins. Butchers' cross-bred, large, 6s, 6s 7d, 7s 2d ; do do, second quality, 3s 7d, 4s 6d, 5s 4d, 6s ; do merino, large, 5s sd, 5s lOd, Gs 4d ; do do, second quality, 3s Id, 3s lOd, 4s sd, 5s 5d ; lambskins, lid, Is; country- cross-bred, large, 4s. 4s lOd, 5s 4d, Gs : do do, medium, 2s 3d, 3s 2d, 4s lOd ; do do, small, Is 4d, Is 9d, 2s 3d ; do, merino, large, 4s Bd, 5s 3d, 5s lid; do do, medium, 2s 2d, 3s, 3s 10d, 4s 8d ; do do, small, Is 3d, 1b 9d, 2s 2d.
Fat and tallow—Sixty-two packages were catalogued and all sold. Fat, best quality, clean and well saved, to 2§d per lb ; second qual'ty, fro l|-d to per lb. Tallow—A few small his at 2-|d to 3d per lb, and from 20s to 25s per cw( for second quality, up to for first quality. Hides—Sound, dry, 4d per lb ; salted, ordinary, at 3|d per lb; damaged, 2|d per lb. Calfskins, sound, 4i per lb ; cut and damaged, 2d per lb.
