TRAGIC ENDING OF A LOVE STORY.

A singularly painful scene was witnessed at the New street railway station, Birmingham, on a recent night. An Irish girl, whose lover, an egg merchant, named John Morau, had been killed in a street accident during the week, persisted in accompanying the corpse to the London anl North-western station, whence it was to be taken to Ireland for interment. The formal wake had been held upon the body throughout the previous night, and about 2QOO Irish people marched with the coffin to the train. The girl, whose wedding day with the deceased had been fixed, gave vent to a heartrending scream as the coffin was placed in. the railway car; aud I declaring she would be buried with her | lover, she br Ae away from her friends,

and, ru-hing to the booking office, returned frantically waving a ticket for Dublin which she had obtained. Upon being prevented from entering the train she went into hysterics, rmd was removed to the watting room amid most painful excitement. Her father implored her, upon recovering consciousness, to return home, but learning that the Irish train f.r Holyhead had left the station, she again went into convulsions, and was in that state forcibly placed in a vehicle under the sister's care, and driven off. Her life is now despaired ©f. The immense station was crowded, and until the departure of the train the uproar was deafening. About 6000 persons were present, and the building resounded with sobbing add groaning cries for the deceased and his sweetheart until the departure of the train.
