TEMUKA BUTTER, CHEESE AND BACON-CURING FACTORY COMPANY.
A meeting of the Directors of the Temuka Dairy Factory was held in the Wallingford Hotel, on Saturday the 2nd of September, 1882. Present —Messrs Guild, Paterson, K. F. Gray, Grant, Austin, J. T. M. Hayhurst, R. A. Barker. S. Cain, Dr Foster (solicitor) and J, Ashwell, (secretary.) On the motion of Mr Gray, seconded by Mr Grant, Mr J. Guild was elected permanent Chairman of the Director*. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and, with a slight alteration, confirmed.
Dr Foster pointed out the necessity for the Directors to decide upon, a registered, office, as the company rendered itself liable to a penalty of £2O for each day that the company acted without such registered office. On the proposition’of Mr Cain,seconded by Mr Grant, it was decided—That Mr Ashwell’s office be the registered office of the Company,’ and Messrs Gray and Ashwell were .appointed to see to the affixing.,of. the same. - The particulars of sitss offered were then read by the Chairman, but before proceeding to discuss them Messrs Guild and Paterson gave an account of their visit to Edendale, from which it appeared that those gentlemen were well satisfied

Mr Barker moved, Mr Paterson seconded* Anti it That Dr Foste'r be granted -the authority* and also requested to draw the Commissioner s attention to the Company’s claim for
exemption.” •- " 1 Dr Foster then explained that he re qujred £5 for cost of an extra stamp that he was not aware would be required. 1 Proposed by Mr Grant, seconded by Mr Austin, and carried—“ That Dr
Foster be paid the amount.” Proposed by Mr Gray, seconded by Mr Aujstin, and carried— "That; the Secretary call all future meetings at 7 p.m.. until further instructions.” r- rThe meeting then adjourned until Wednesday evening, the 6th instant, at 7 o’clock.
