Mr Smith moved that his resolutions be reported from the Committee re subsidies to public libraries The Hon Mr Dick said that when, the rote ef £6OOO on the Estimates was brought down, he would also submit resolutions as to the equitable] distribution thereof. He asked that the resolutions be withdrawn. . \ - The motion was carried. Sir George Grey’s Waste Lands Board Bill, which* had fordts object the election of Waste Lands Boards, was opposed by Mr Rolleston. The Bill was discussed till a late hour in the morning when it was reported with amendments.
