Colonial wheat has fallen 6d, and Adelaide, ex store, is quotted at 495, and New Zealand ditto, at 48s. Adelaide flour has declined iy to 355, ex ’ warehouse. AUSTRALIAN CABLE. Sydney, Aug. 17. A man named Burns, who was yesterday acquitted of a charge of murdering another named Forbes, whose headless body was found at Deep Lead, was immediately aftenvards ‘ rearrested fur the murder of Michael Quiulivan, in 1860. A further Avarrant is out for Burns for a murder in’ South Australia* Melbourne, Aug. 19. Burns has been remanded to Hamilton on a charge of murdering Michael * Quiuliyan in 1880.
Adelaide, Aug. 18. Messrs Elder Smith and Co. 3 of this city, are shipping supplies of horse feed for the use of the British troops in . Egypt. Fifty tons are being despatched ‘by each outward mail steamer. Aug. 19. Wheat is firm at 7s. Town flour is quoted at £l4, and country brands at £l3 15s. Brisbane, Aug. 18. Mrs Plimsoll, wife of Mr S, Plimsoll the * sailors’ friend,’ died here to-day.
