London, July 31, Two regiments of Grenadier Guards embarked today for Egypt, and the Coldstream Guards do so tomorrow. The Household Cavalry has received orders to embark on Wednesday. Later, It is reported that Arabi Pasha is shooting the loyalists at Cairo. Official information states that Russia deprecates isolated actions, and hopes that England will co-operate with the Conference. Aug. 1. In the House of Commons today a resolution was passed requiring the Indian Government to defray the cost of the Indian expedition to Egypt, subject to the future decision of Par liaujent on the question. The Daily News applauds the decision of resistance to the French protests regarding Port Said, and the departure of the fleet for it. Admiral Seymour has summoned Aboukir to surrender, under threat o immediate bombardment. It is stated that 2000 Bedouins arc encamped in the vicinity of Alexandria. A naval brigade has been landed from the British fleet, and has occupied Menuf, near this city, in force. This movement has been taken in consequence of the attitude of the Bedouin Arabs, who are massing in the neighborhood of Lake Mareotis and threatening the city, and whose advance it has been found necessary to check. Later; A party of Bedouin irregulars advanced against the British lines at Ramleh and succeeded in surprising the picket. The outposts were driven in, and retreated in disorder, but returned on the arrival of reinforcements from the camp, when the Arabs fled. The affair proved a bloodless one. Constantinople, July 31. It has transpired that M. Monon, the Russian delegate to the .European Conference, has declared that he will only attend the meetings for the purpose of discussing the question of the neutrality of the Suez Canal. In consequence of this action of the Russian representative, the Conference is now considered to have terminated. Aug. 1. The Conference of European Ambassadors, which decided to terminate its proceedings on the 31st ult., in consequence of the declaration of the Russian Plenipotentiary that he would only attend its meetings for the purpose of discussing the question of the neutrality of the Suez Canal, resumed its sitting today. The Russian Plenipotentiary, it has transpired, has received fresh instructions from his Government to rejoin the Conference, and participate in its proceedings. I It is understood that the Porte has now definitely decided to despatch a body of troops to Egypt, notwithstanding the statement that this course could only be adopted provided the British troops were withdrawn. Five thousand troops are under orders to embark tomorrow, Dervish Pasha will accompany the expedition. ■ Aug. 2. The Porte, in its reply to the communication of the Powc rs, states that it can only proclaim Arabi a rebel after the Turkish troops have landed in Egypt. The English Ambassador has notified to the Porto that the English Government requires that Turkish troops [sent to Egypt should be subjected to the orders of Sir Ganiet Wolseley. The question of the neutrality of the Suez Canal is now being discussed ; by the Conference of European Ambassadors. At today’s sitting the Italian representative proposed that the Great Powers should co-operate, with a view to the establishment of a collective naval protection. It is not known whether this course has been adopted by the Conference.
