ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, July 25. An attempt has been made on the life of Signor Sagasta, the Spanish Premier, by sending a dynamite infernal machine to him. Several arrests have been made in connection with the affair. July 27.

Wheat has advanced 6d per bushel, and is now very firm at 7s. Flour hap advanced 10s per ton—town brands, £li 10s ; country brands do £l3 10s. Sydney, July 28. New Zealand wheat is now quoted at 4s 2d ; New Zealand oats, 3s 6d.
