THE LATE DR. CUMMING-’S CHILDREN.

TO TIIE EDITOB. Sir, —"Will you kindly give this letter a place in your next issue. The two little boys, orphans of the late Dr dimming, arc if possible, to sail for England at the end of this month, and at the last—every just claim being settled, their passage (second class) and that of an attendant taken, and what is absolutely needful bought for them—-theie is so little left that it does not seem possible to spend anything on what may be called the pleasure of little children, natural and right as we all feel such expenditure really is for them. Therefore I venture to ask old Temuka friends of. their parents if they will give them such things as linen picture books, and a few 3trong toys, amongst which a long railway train would be an unfailing source of joy, as would a sailor doll ; some dried fruih, such as prunes, etc., and also biscuits, or, if preferredj a small sum to procure sueh things. lam sure that many old friends of Dr and Mrs dimming would be only too pleased to have the opportunity of being able in some such small matters to contribute to the comfort of their little children, and I will gladly receive for them anything that may be sent to me early in next week, as their ship is expected to sail about the 30th instant.— I am, etc. Fkancbs M. Hammond. LeCren's Terrace. Timaru, June 20:
