Melbourne, Jane 14. New Zealand oals has advanced about Id per bushel during the week, and are now quoted at 4s to 4s 3d for feed, and 4s 3d to 4s 4d for milling, sorts.
In the Legislative Assembly today, the Minister for Trade and Customs stated that the Government did not intend to allow a drawback upon barlev imported for malting. June 15.
In the Legislative Assembly this evening Sir Bryan O’Loghlen said that the Government has resolved to treat the motion introduced by Mr Francis, tnat the proposal for a remission of taxation was inconvenient and undesirable, as one of want of confidence. The Premier fu.ther stated that the Government had resolved to modify their proposals for a remission of taxation set forth in the Budget speech before Mr Francis’ motion was tabled. The House has adjourned till Tuesday next.
