The markets for colonial breadstuffs and tallow arc without quotable change.
The first prize at the International Shipwrights’ Exhibition, now being held, has been awarded to the Orient Company’s new steamer Austral. The Times today in a leading article on the Exhibition, refers to the decision of the judges, and concludes as follows “ Whether wo look upon the Austral as a triumph of size, luxury, speed, or in the last resort as a ship of war, she is in every way the ship of the age. ”

Cairo, May 5
A serious rising, under the leadership of a false prophet at the head of a large body of men, has again broken out in the Soudan, and Egyptian troops have so far been powerless to quell the revolt, which is daily extending. The strength of the rebels is rapidly augmenting, and it is feared they are preparing to attack Khartoum, a town of considerable size in Kubia.
