THE PUBLIC SCHOOL PRIZES.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —My attention having been drawn to the prize list of the Temuka School, published in your issue of yesterday, I find that the first prize of the School lias been awarded to Miss Isabella Morton, This must have been given in error. The young lady mentioned certainly did excellent work at (he examination, but it was the work of the Fifth Standard. The competitors for the first prize of the school were Miss Annie Guy and the boys Russell, Austin, Cooper, Fauvel, and Lee, each of whom took iho sixth standard work. To Austin or Cooper, therefore, who passed the examination, and obtained an equal number of marks, the prize ought to have been presented.—l am, etc, A. Mclntosh. Thornbank, Temuka, 28th April, 1882.
