It is announced that Prince Gortschakoff has been relieved of his official duties as Minister of Foreign Affairs. His Highness, who lias filled the position for a period of twenty-six years, will, however, retain the dignity of Chancellor of the Empire. It is further announced that M. Giers, who resigned his seat in the Council of Ministeig shortly after the issue of the Imperial manifesto in May last year, will succeed Prjnce Qortschakoff.

London, April 8

The Times, commenting in its issue today upon the announcement of the great land Eale at Burrabozi, New South Wales, states that it affords a splendid opening in Au?tralia for the English gentry who are seeking cheap land, health and occupation.
