This Ash-Closet differs from the Earth Closet, inasmuch as it makes use of ordinary house ashes instead of dry earth. By the pressure upon the se.tt, the ash dust is separated from the cinders and scattered over the soil on each use of the Closet, and so any bad smells are pre vented.
