The excreta is instantly deodorised, and no smell is perceptible even though it is allowed to stand for twelve months. This Ash-Closet differs from the Earth Closet, inasmuch as it makes use of ordinary house ashes instead of dry earth. Bv the pressure upon the seat, the ash scattered over the anil on each use of the Closet, and so any bad smells are pre vented. The Cinders are saved for re-burning. A valuable ready made manure is produced. No other Closet does the above without infringing this patent. Dry earth may be used with the CinderSifting Ash Closet, but ashes, unless previously sifted, cannot be used with the Earth Closet. It answers eqinlly well for "wood ashes or dry earth. No well regulated household should be without them. Only emptied ev» ry twelve months. Saves the first expense in two years. The manure mauufa< tured by the Cinder-sifter is valued at 25 shillings ier ton at Home. The Patent can be adapted to old closets. Closets to be seen and all Information can be obtained from J.
