WINCHESTER SCHOOL.
The school children’s prizes were distributed here on Iriday last, t ;e names of the successful pupils having been taken from the report of Mr Hammond’s recent examination. The prize fund had been made up from the proceeds of the entertainment which was given a short time ago, and from private subscriptions' The following is the prize list : Standard Y—Willie Stewart, 1; Andrew Austin, 2. Standard IY -Harry Lawrence, 1; John Austin, 2 ; Alexander Stewart, 3. Standard III —Lilh.e Shallard, 1; Bertie Taylor, 2 ; Charles Moss, 3. Standard ll—Emma Philp, 1; J ohn Cameron, 2 ; David Stewart, 3. Standard I—Christine Klee, 1; Annie Brown, 2 ; Alfred Gillum 3. Sewing—Standard IY : Rose Gimpson ; Standard III: Alice Klee ; Standard II: Emma Philp; Standard I: Sarah Cain. Writing : Rose Gimpson. Good Conduct -Ellen Connelly and Annie Brown. Regular Attendance —Andrew Moore, 1 ; Willie Moore, 2. In addition to the above, about a dozen books were distributed amongst the children below Standard I, for regular attendance.
