DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.
The firing for the District Prizes took place on the Temuka Rifle Range, on Thursday and Friday last. There were ten prizes to be competed for, the value of which was as follows One prize worth £4; two prizes worth £3 ; three piizes worth £2 ; four prizes worth £l, and it will be seen from the appended scores the lion’s share of them was won by our local Volunteers. By the express train on Thursday seven of the Christchurch City Guards arrived here under command of Major Lean, and proceeded to the range where they competed for the prizes.
