DUNEDIN MARKETS.

Mr Donald Stronach reports : Fat Cattle —182 head of fat cattle were yarded in addition to 212 stores. Bullocks realised from £7 7s fid to £lO 12s 6d, and cows £6 10s to £3 2s 6d. We quote prime beef 22s 6d per 1001 b. Fat Calves. —24 head were yarded, and sold up to 24s each.

Fat Sheep.—The supply was afairaverage, consisting of 2055 head, but bidding was slow at scarcely last prices. Crossbreds realised 8s to 12s per head. We quote prime cross-Ved motion 1§ to 2d per lb. Fat Lambs.—sß2 were offered, and sold at about previous rates, realising up to 12s per head.

Fat Pigs.—The market was over-sup-piied with 198 head, and prices ranged from 4s 6d to 38s.

Store Sheep.—There is still an almost unlimited inquiry for good young merino wethers and ewes, and also for cross breds # of all ages, but the numbers offering are quite unequal to supplying the demand. Since last report wo have placed 11,000 head.

Store Cattle continue in good demand. Wool.—Our second re ular wool sale of the season was held at the Otago Wool Stores on Tuesday, the 10th inst. We report for merinos a d fine cross-breds a firm demand at last prices. Heavier and coarser sorts were dull at about the same quotations, but for such descriptions the cornpetion was uneven. We sold 468 bales at the following prices .-—Cross-bred —Greasy, 7Jd to 10|d ; washed, B|d ; and scoured, 12jJ to 18d. Merino— Greasy, 6|d to to 23fd.

Grain. —Wheat : As ne have for some time reported, good to prime milling can be placed without difficulty at our quotations, although millers manifest no anxiety to lay in stock. W© quote — Prime milling, 4s to 4s 3d ; medium, 3a 6d to 3s 9d ; inferior and fowls’ feed, 2z to 3s 3d, Oats : There has been considerable inquiry for feed oats for shipment Weqoute—Prime milling, 2s; bright feed Is lOd to Is lid per bushel, Barfey Nothing to report.
