A man named Charles O’Donnell met with an accident yesterday at 1 otara Hill, about eight miles from Havelock* ' truck went over him bodily at 9 a.m. »#and he died at 3 p.m. Christchurch, Jan. 12. The trial of reapers and binders under the auspices of the North Otago A. and P. Association, took place today, There was a large attendance. Three machines competed —the McCormick, the Wood, and the Osborne. The voting was McCormick, 213 points ; Wood, 111 points ; and the Osborne 64 points. The McCormick therefore takes the gold medal of the Association- The lyork done by the machines was good.
