THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF SOUTH CANTERBURY. ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES. THE BOARD- in pursuance of powers in that behalf conferred by “ The Education Act 1877” (section 64), hereby directs that a PUBLIC MEETING of the HOUSEHOLDERS in every School District throughout the Education District of South Canterbury to, be held on MONDAY, the 23rd day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-.two, at half-past seyen o'clock in the evening, for the Election in each District of Seven Householders (section 64), to form the Committee for such District for the year ending with the fourth Monday in January, eighteen hundred and eightythree. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolhouse in each District which is provided with a Schoolhouse. In the Districts in which Schools are not yet built the places of meeting shall be as followa; — REDCLIFP—House of Mr George Oliver MAKIKIHI Temporary School-, room KINGSDOWN—House of Mr James Craigie SEA VlEW—House of Mr Tregenza ALBURY— McLeod’s Hotel GAPES’ VALLEY Temporary Schoolroom. The Board further directs that the First Meeting of each School Committee be held in the place appointed for the Elections, and immediately after the election upon the same evening. The Board requests the Chairman of each Public Meeting to make to the Board, immediately after the elections, a return of the names of the several householders elected to form the Committee, and re-: commends that each Chairman of Com mittee report his own election as soon as possible.
