PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The annual congregational meeting of the Temuka Presbyterian Church was held in the Church on Friday, 6th inst., when there was a large attendance. The Kev Mr Gordon presided, and opened the meeting with devotional exercises and an appropriate address. The minutes of the last annual meeting weie read by the' Secretary, after which ; the Session and Sabbath School Reports were read by Mr Black. Both were con-, sidered highly satisfactory and heartily adopted. The Secretary read the sattement of the church and manse accounts for the past year, and submitted plans of the proposed new church as prepared by Mr Upton. The statements were adopted, and a vote ; of thanks accorded to Mr Upton for the plans kindly prepared l y him for the new church. Votes of thanks were also given to the collectors of the stipend fund for the important service rendered by them connection with this fund, and to the retiring Committee for their labors during the past year. The election of the new Committee then took place, and now consists, with the Minister and Elders, as follows : Minister- Rev D. Gordon., Elders— Anderson, John ; Black, Hugh ; Cain, Samuel ; McCann, William; Stewart, William. Committee Austin, James; Bisset, Christian ; Blyth. James ; Currie, Samuel; Doun, Robert ; Frew, William ; Gray, K. F.; Hay, John; Irvine, John; Mackay, D: M. ; May, John ; Mcßratney, Alexander; McCaskill, Peter; Russell*, Archibald; Seaton, D. ; Smith, Isaac*; Simpson. William ; Taylor, David ; Woodhead, George ; McCullough, Samuel. - The meeting was closed by prayer.
